HOME IMPROVEMENTS...

I guess it takes a special event to make some personal and home improvements. When Tiffany and Todd got married two years ago I lost 22 pounds. With Ashley and Josh we gave our home a make over. I'm somewhat anxious to see what two more weddings will do for us!!

I'm not sure you can tell BUT the walls have been repainted a cream color and the trim was painted brown. I cannot believe that the trim lasted 17 years with the previous owners "splotches" all over them. What were we thinking? I have more "touch up" to do in some spots but overall IT'S DONE!! The carpet cleaner comes tomorrow! WHOOHOO! That is a long time coming as well. We will be back to "SHOES OFF AT THE DOOR" at this place. My own children are the worst offenders of that rule.

We spent more than our budget allowed for the tile, etc. so there is no new furniture for our guests. Thank goodness for "camp chairs." Believe me...we will be using them. We aren't fancy around here but we are clean!

Dave contemplating his next cut. He analyzes EVERYTHING! It paid off in the end. Wait till you see the finished product.

Ashley Thay painting some twigs for the wedding reception. She was assigned the tedious task of the center pieces. She had friends over one day and they ended up in a paint fight. As long as the work gets done...

Dave had to completely rebuild the wall to put the tiles up. He struggled with the fact that the original builders didn't put the walls in "square" which brought about all sorts of problems towards the end.

We had to live out of the kitchen sink with head washing and leg shaving. There was a LOT of wet-wipe baths around here for over a week. Thank goodness for HUGGIES WET-WIPES!

FINALLY...

THE FINISHED PRODUCT

I am so excited that this project is nearly done...nevermind that it has taken nearly 20 years! Let's also rejoice at the fact that the 3 of you are finally showering again...I hate to break it to you but wet wipes don't do the trick...there was always free days at Lincoln Park...you should have thought of that! :) It looks great!!!

I remember that tiling business... It's always easy to forget all the problems once you see the finished product.

Just to set the record straight... I wasn't analyzing anything. I was sitting there wondering, "Now what did I come out here for?"

That looks so nice. I have one in great need up here, can we schedule your tile guy soon and does he work cheap? Your house looks great, it is such a relief to have things put back in place I'll bet.
