HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW....???
We are starting to harvest our bounty...some of it was bounty-less. We didn't have quite the produce this year that we did last year. So far we have gotten 7 cups of roasted and peeled HOT peppers for salsa, 9 servings for two home grown corn off the cob and 4 stuffed bell peppers ready to put into the microwave all wrapped in "seal-a-meal" bags. I have a testimony of the convenience of the seal-a-meal machine. It is so easy to use and so compact after vacuuming the air out of the bag. We did have a little trouble sealing the corn. It was too juicy so we had to let it set in the bags for about 1 1/2 hours in the freezer to firm up before it would seal. The machine sucked the life right out of grated cheese. I hope it fluffs back up after we open it up months from now. It looks like a big blob of melted cheese. My friend loaned me the machine and I have just gone to town storing stuff. It's nice to have more food in storage. The only thing I worry about with freezer storage is "power" as in electricity and the possibility of it going out for prolonged periods of time. We still have a lot of peppers to harvest and make salsa when the tomatoes are ripe. That will probably happen the week we are on vacation. (I'm having a challenge posting photos at this time...I'll work on them later.)
