MORE MEMORIES FROM OUR NAUVOO TRIP

(These photos are not in order of the mileage...you bloggers understand why right?)

Independence Rock that many pioneer signatures are preserved through all these years. This rock is just a mile or so from Martin's Cove between Casper and Rollins Wyoming.

Devil's Gate. Thought to be the entrance way for the pioneers into Martin's Cove but in fact it is a river...not passable (but I'm sure it made for a good story).
Our "very personal tour guide" that gave us a tour we will not soon forget. Elder Taylor went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we did not miss this last leg of our trip.

Grams always makes friends no matter where she goes.
He should have brought his sandles. His feet hurt whenever he wore his tennis shoes.
Filler 'er up sir!
What a treat...we stopped off in Casper, Wyo and had lunch with Jay Bird. He is doing well and loving his experiences there. He was so happy to see us.

One of the 4 corner stones of the Far West Temple that is just waiting for the Call To Serve!
Across the dedicated plot of the Far West Temple site.

Near the Garden of Eden. Can you see why? Even in the gloomy weather this spot was beautiful.
Part of the Mark Twain Museum in Hannibal, Missouri.

The front door of our hotel in Nauvoo, Illinois.
The bullet hole in the upper room of the Carthage jail. This was the bullet that killed Hyrum Smith as he tried to block the door to protect himself and his companions.

The upper window of the jail is where Joseph Smith was shot, he exited and fell to his death near the well when attacked by the mob.

Our last night on the road. What an awesome room to put an end to our travels

Oh Grams...did you really need all those shoes. Just to let you know she only wore about two pairs of these shoes. She was prepared for any condition, that's for sure. We clocked out at 2996.0 miles and averaged 23.1 miles per gallon in our 300C. Nice ride!
