We are staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Albuquerque, NM. This place is amazing. It's not a 5 star hotel but it is so very comfortable and the volunteers are so nice. Some of the staff are a little different but the others make up for that. There is a laundromat where they even furnish the soap and fabric softener. There is a very large kitchen and two dining rooms. There is a large family room with many small sitting and TV rooms. The place houses 30 families and they serve dinner every night. There is refrigerator space for every family and the food that is left over from dinner the night before is put in a "community" fridge and anyone can help their self. It is about 15 min. away from Baby Max's "hotel" so Tiff and Todd can easily get to and from here to there several times per day. Volunteers come each day to clean and to bring things to give to the families to make their stay more comfortable. With it being Christmas I'm sure the outpouring of generosity is being felt. I have asked several times what I can do to help and they just tell me there are people that will take care of the duties. I take out the trash after dinner and I clean the tables in the mornings. I think after this stay I will feel like I need to wash the tables at McDonald's when I'm done. We were sure blessed to be lead to this place. It cost $15 per night. Where can you find a hotel for that price that feed you too (and gives you gifts)? I'm truly thankful for those that give of themselves to make others more comfortable.
