UPDATE FROM THE TRAVEL LOG TO NAUVOO

There will be no photos until we return home. We asked the folks to "pack light" so I could take ALL my equipment and grandma brought so many shoes the laptop had to stay home. No matter. Her feet will be well fashioned!! We are having a wonderful time, seriously! Last night we spent in Council Bluff, Iowa. It's literally a stone throw from Omaho, Nebraska. The countryside is beautiful. Much corn and hay with rolling grasslands. The wind was blowing us off the road and the truckers are so rude they just change lanes right in front of you with no regard. You really learn to watch their signal light. That means their coming and you better get out of the way. We had a difficult time getting out of Cheyenne, Wyoming yesterday after church. We found a slow leak in one of our tires. We found a repair shop open in WalMart and they discovered we had the kind of tire that cannot be patched. It had some kind of sticky adhesive stuff inside and they couldn't get to the nail in the tire and repair it. They said they didn't have that kind of tire (or that's what we heard) so they sent us to Sears. They wanted $180 for the tire and it was a cheap replacement. Back to WalMart to buy 4 new tires to match and they told us they didn't have our size. Back to Sears for the one tire. Bummer! It will only be a couple of more months when we were going to buy all four tires anyway. We didn't get out of town until after 1 p.m. and arrived in Council Bluff at 8:00 daylight savings time.

I got a speeding ticket going through Ft. Bridger, Wyo on Saturday and while Dave was driving we had a big rock pop up and chip our windshield. This trip is a little more expensive than we had anticipated. Guess that's the way it goes!

Today we will arrive in Nauvoo about 1 or 2 p.m. (we are now an hour (or two) ahead of you all so don't call us late and we won't call you early). Can't wait to get there and really see the sites and visit the temple. I hope the hurricane won't cause bad weather for us this week. Today looks pretty good though so far but it is still early...anything can happen.

If we get a chance to report in again later we sure will. I hope all is well at home.
