Greetings from Cameron, MO
WELL, here we are FIVE days into the trip and we are still having FUN together. We made it to Adam Ondi Ahmen tonight but it was too late to see anything. We headed back to the little town of Gallatin and there was only one motel there that looked questionable so we went back to the next town 12 miles back and NO MOTEL to be found. We headed further down the road to Cameron and there were plenty of places to pick from so here we are...The Comfort Inn. I'm so glad that we happened this way or we would have missed the turn off to Far West! We will go see that first thing in the morning then back to Adam-Ondi-Ahmen then 10 hours in the car back to Cheyenne, WY. Not looking forward to that leg of the trip. The folks are doing wonderful. They are reminiscing and laughing together like kids. They have been so patient with all of our choices of things to do. We got to go to the temple in Nauvoo last night and dad went to the Accommodations Center and watched a film on the building of the temple. He had a very wonderful experience there while we were in the temple. It rained all day today so we didn't get out much. We did spend an hour or so in Hannibal, MO and saw Mark Twain's boyhood home and some Norman Rockwell originals. We are still in the rolling hills of corn fields and soybeans. Very lush and green. I'm sure it gets very humid here and miserable when it's 100 degrees. I'll take this rain over that for sure. We have an early day tomorrow so I better sign off.
